inter is around the corner. Yay! It is getting cooler by the day. Well its sixty degrees so some of you might not think it to be much of 'winter' but that is how us south Floridians see onset of winter. lol and I totally love it. Talking about what else I love - Fridays - the best day of the week, well who doesn't huh. Waiting for five long days and nights for Friday evening is not easy. I get to go out and have lots of fun. Be it
movies, catching up with friends, eating out, shopping etc. Can watch TV late into the night no school, no office, can sleep in till late the following morning and have two full more days to relax. lol.The only other thing that can top a cool cozy winter friday evening is curling up on the couch with my two sweethearts (daughter and hubs) with a hot cups of cocoa (you knew chocolate was coming, didn't you)... aaah... Sipping this blissful heavenly hot cocoa and watching an old Hindi movie with cheesy dialogues but soulful songs.
Wait there is more. Like the hindi movie we were watching, there has to be a twist, right? Otherwise, its just hot chocolate. While there is nothing wrong with 'just' hot chocolate, to kick an already exotic, creamy, rich, comforting and classic drink up a notch, well there's my favorite Nutella and... wait for it... yes... red chillies. You will not believe the subtle kick the red chilli adds to a hot and sweet chocolate drink. You have to try it to believe for yourselves.
Ingredients:
Milk ................................. 2 cups (I use 2%)
Nutella .............................. 4-5 tbsp
Coco powder ...................... 1 tbsp (unsweetened)
Whole red chilli .................. 2
Cinnamon stick .................... 1 inch
Method:
1. Combine milk, cocoa powder, chilli, cinnamon and nutella in a small sauce pan over medium-low heat. Whisk until hot and nutella melts. Lower the heat and simmer for 5-6 minutes. Discard the chilli and cinnamon serve hot. ENJOY!
Notes:
1. I sometimes add a quarter tsp of instant coffee powder to enhance the chocolate flavor even more.
2. You can substitute whole red chilli with chilli powder n cinnamon with ground cinnamon.

http://arusuvai-kurippu.blogspot.com/2011/11/spiced-nutella-hot-chocolate.html
in india we have full cream milk, toned milk and double toned milk..plz tell me which one shall i use!!!
http://sushmita-smile.blogspot.com/
You can use full cream milk for a more richer taste or toned milk as I have used here.Double toned milk will make the drink taste watery. Hope that helps :)
thanks for ansering my query..now i have another!!
if i do use chilli powder instead of chilli..how much then? 1 teaspoon??
That entirely depends on how much heat you want, you can use anywhere between 1/4 to 1 tsp of chilli powder.
i made this yesterday night...used chilli powder instead of chillies..and it turned out quite nice..me loved the kick in the aftertaste of every sip...hubby though did not like the chilli kick...so next time..will make for him without the chillies....my experience on this will be coming up in a post soon!!
