Chocohotpots!

atching Nigella on Food Network, making these beauties sporting her always lovely smile I thought to myself "Come on. That looks too easy to be good." But the more I saw her melting, mixing the chocolate, baking and showing the gooey interior... ooo too good to resist she totally talked me into making it.
So, I did. Followed the recipe with my own little tweaks. And I confess-
I AM SO IN LOVE with this simple, yet UNBELIEVABLY SINFUL, YUMMY dessert, the perfect "molten yet crusty" chocolate souffle, forever gooey inside while the outside was nice and brownie-like! A brilliant recipe and I'm thrilled once again by Nigella's ability to combine deliciousness with simplicity. You can have it with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream to make it even more scrumptious. Despite being a rich decadent dessert, this one scores points on the number of ingredients too.  Just 5 ingredients (three additional ones are my own contribution :) and in under 30 minutes you can get everything done from start to finish... isn't that great! My whole house smelled like chocolate while it was in the oven and when it was out I just couldn't stop myself from tasting it burning my tongue in the process.. LOL kiddo and hubby loved it too!
Ingredients:
Semisweet/ Dark chocolate chip ............... 4 ounces
Unsalted butter ........................... 1 stick or 1/2 cup
Eggs .......................................... 2
Coffee powder ............................. 1/4 tsp (can't do chocolate without coffee :)
Sugar ........................................ 3/4 cup
All-purpose flour............................ 3 tbsp
Vanilla Extract .............................. 2 drops
Salt ........................................... a pinch
Method:
1. Place a baking sheet in the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F.
2. Grease the ramekins with cooking spray or butter.
3. Either in a microwave or in a double boiler, melt the chocolate and 1 stick butter, then set aside to cool a little.

4. In another bowl, mix the eggs with the sugar, salt, vanilla, coffee and flour with a hand whisk and beat in the cooled butter and chocolate mixture. Divide the mixture between the 4 buttered ramekins. Bake for about 20 minutes, by which time the tops will be cooked and cracked and the chocolate gooey underneath.
5. Place each ramekin on a small plate with a teaspoon and serve. Serve when hot. ENJOY!

I love this recipe!!!!
I tried it out but I used half white chocolate and put each type of chocolate on two sides of the ramekins and took a toothpick and swirled it so it would have a cool effect after I baked it!

beti said...

that looks extremely decadent and delicious! I can't stop looking at them, they are simply great
