I love fruit based desserts. Cherries are something I absolutely adore... they are just so cute, gorgeous red, juicy n plump. Whenever they are in season I am always tempted to buy them every time I see them anywhere :) Had bought some from the farmer's market yesterday.. was craving something sweet after dinner.. so this recipe was born. Simple, quick and totally decadent. We had it with some vanilla ice-cream and the warm yummy dessert with the crunchy crumble topping and the soft sweet gooey cherries beneath it.. was heaven! We loved it.
Ingredients: makes 2
Fresh cherries ...................................... 1 cup pitted n chopped
Brown sugar ........................................ 1/4 cup + 2 tsp
All purpose flour ................................... 1/4 cup
Oatmeal ............................................. 4 tblsp
Butter ............................................... 2 1/2 tblsp cold
Lemon juice ........................................ 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon powder ................................. a pinch

Method:
1. Heat oven to 400 deg F
2. In a medium bowl mix cherries, lemon juice, cinnamon and 2 tsp of brown sugar. Combine.
3. Divide equally into 2 remekins and bake for five minutes.
4. Meanwhile in a seperate bowl add all purpose flour, oatmeal, butter and remaining sugar and mix properly to make a crumbly mixture.
5. Take out the cherries from the oven and press the maida mixture over the cherries and bake for 15-17 min, until it becomes golden brown on top.
6. Serve warm with some vanilla ice cream. RELISH!
